"Pride and prejudice" - summary and characters' desciption

Jane Austen

Jane Austen was an English novelist and she wrote romantic books. She lived between 1775 and 1817. Jane Austen died at 41 years old.

Pride and prejudice

Pride and prejudice is a novel by Jane Austen, which presents a love story beetween Darcy and Elizabeth, that are parts of different social groups.

Elizabeth Bennet

She's the second daughter in the Bennet family, and the most intelligent  Elizabeth is the protagonist of Pride and Prejudice and one of the most well-known female characters in English literature. Her admirable qualities are numerous—she is lovely, clever, and, in a novel defined by dialogue, she converses as brilliantly as anyone.
 Pride and Prejudice is essentially the story of how she (and her true love, Darcy) overcome all obstacles—including their own personal failings and  her initial prejudice against him—to find romantic happiness.

Fitzwilliam Darcy

He's a wealthy gentleman, the master of Pemberley, and the nephew of Lady Catherine de Bourgh. Though Darcy is intelligent and honest, his excess of pride causes him to look down on his social inferiors. Over the course of the novel, he tempers his class-consciousness and learns to admire and love Elizabeth for her strong character.

Jane Bennet and Charles Bingley

 They first meet at the ball in Meryton and enjoy an immediate mutual attraction.
 Both are cheerful, friendly, and good-natured, always ready to think the best of others.

Mr Bennet & Mrs Bennet 

They're Elizabeth's parents. Mr Bennet (the father) is a bookish and intelligent gentleman, which relates very well with his two eldest daughters. Mrs Bennet (the mother) with her public manners and social climbing are embarrassing to Jane and Elizabeth. 

Mary, Catherine and Lydia

 These are younger sisters of Elizabeth and they are verry silly.

Others characters

Caroline Bingley is the snobbish sister of Charles Bingley
George Wickham runs off with Lydia, and is paid to marry her.
William Collins, Mr Bennet's clergyman cousin,  marries Elizabeth's friend, Charlotte Lucas.
Georgiana Darcy is  Darcy’s sister.
Lady Catherine de Bourgh is a rich, bossy noblewoman. She's Mr. Collins’s patron and Darcy’s aunt.
Mr. and Mrs. Gardiner are Mrs. Bennet’s brother and his wife
